CATHERINE L. MERRELL

Catherine L. Merrell, 85, Hallstead, PA, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 at Barnes-Kasson SNF, Susquehanna, PA.

She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd D. Merrell, in 1980; and by a brother and sister, William McCreary and Adaline Morse.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William and Leona Merrell, Hallstead; a stepson and daughter-in-law, John C. and Lois Merrell; a brother, James B. McCreary, Great Bend, PA; four grandchildren, Debbie, Heather, Jennifer and Matthew; three step-grandchildren, Michelle, Richard and Greg; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua, Catie, Dominic, Merrell and Corrina; a special niece, Sandy; several other nieces and nephews.

Catherine was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hallstead. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was kind and generous to all. She enjoyed music, especially Christian gospel music, and the Gaithers. She loved flowers and gardening and doing beaded crafts.

Catherine’s family is grateful to the staff of Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility for the loving care, many acts of kindness, and respect bestowed on her during her residence there.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1406 Monroe Street, Endicott, NY 13760; or to Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility Activity Fund, 400 Turnpike Street, Susquehanna, PA 18847.

RONALD A. WRIGHT

Ronald A. Wright, 75, Thompson, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the Meadow View Senior Living Center, Montrose, PA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mae (Kuiper) Wright; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Jacqui Wright, VA; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Sandra and Bill Post, Rushville, PA, Kathy and Jon Vanaman, Tallmadge, Ohio; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucretia and Chester Latko, NJ, Genevieve Accocella, FL; three grandchildren, Marie Harvey, Heather Vanaman, Samantha Post; one great-granddaughter, Sara Vanaman; several nieces and nephews.

He retired from Western Electric Co. in Kearney, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, March 4 at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Rev. Robert Harris officiating.

Burial, Gelatt Cemetery, Gelatt, PA.

HARRIETT McCRACKEN GRANGE

Miss Harriett McCracken Grange, 89, the daughter of William Hume Grange and Elizabeth Ellen McCracken, originally of New York City, passed away Friday, February 24, 2006 at her Forest Pines residence in Columbia, SC, after a lengthy illness.

Miss Grange is survived by her nieces, Judith Aucoin, Columbia, SC, Janice Pratt, Tuscombe, AL; nephews, Wesley Bjorn, Columbia, SC, Clifford Nilsson, Susquehanna, PA, Michael Nilsson, Danesden, FL; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her nephew, Robert Nilsson, Susquehanna, PA and William Nilsson, New York City.

A service was held at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, on Friday, March 3, 2006, at 1:30 p.m.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Jackson Township, PA.
