PANCAKE BREAKFAST, Saturday, January 7, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at East Ararat United Methodist Church. Proceeds will go to the Lyman family, who lost their home to a fire. All are welcome.

Senior Menu January 9 – 13

Monday, January 9: vegetable lasagna, three-bean salad, peas, orange, rye bread, fresh apple.

Tuesday, January 10: Italian marinated chicken, Brussels sprouts, whole wheat bread, peaches.

Wednesday, January 11: stuffed peppers with sauce, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, dinner roll, graham cracker and peanut butter, fresh orange.

Thursday, January 12: sliced turkey with gravy, French style green beans, sweet potatoes, wheat bread, graham cracker and peanut butter, fruit cocktail, cranberry sauce.

Friday, January 13: spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread, lemon meringue pie, diet vanilla pudding.

Holy Name Of Mary Eucharistic Adoration

On Friday, January 6, monthly Eucharistic Adoration will begin after the 12:10 p.m. Mass and conclude with Mass at 7:00 p.m. A prayer service with the men of the Sacred Heart and Benediction will follow the evening Mass. Father Gerard Safko serves as Pastor of Holy name of Mary Church.

Universalists Schedule Christmas Plans

Amid the scent of pine and candlelight, the First Universalist Church of Brooklyn will celebrate the Christmas Eve Service at 8 p.m. The service will open with the solo sound of “Once In Royal David’s City,” followed by special arrangements by the church choir. Pastor Christianson will deliver the evening message entitled, “This Child Cradles All.” The service will close with Communion, open to all and the sharing of light as “Silent Night” is sung.

Sunday, January 8, at 10 a.m. the congregation welcomes the season of Epiphany and a message from the wise men bearing gifts to Bethlehem’s Child. The service will close with all sharing an Epiphany charm cake. The public is invited.

Poker Walk

A Poker Walk will be presented by Sons of the American Legion Squadron 86 on Saturday, January 21.

Sign-in is 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 86, Main Street, Susquehanna, PA. donation is $5 and proceeds will benefit community youth activities.
