ROBERT C. DEVRIES, JR.

Robert C. DeVries, Jr., 42, Fort Myers, FL, formerly of North Jackson, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 9, 2005, at home.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Rose DeVries, Sr., North Jackson; a daughter, Kristen DeVries, Honesdale, PA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris and Rose DeVries, Oakland, PA, Michael and Rose Marie DeVries, Waymart, PA; two sisters, JoAnn VanTassell, Carbondale, PA, Susan Gunzel, Carbondale; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Robert graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1981 and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a supervisor for the Heritage Trucking Co. in Fort Myers, Florida.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 29, 11 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson, with Rev. John O’Bell officiating.

Burial will be in the North Jackson Cemetery, North Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barnes-Kasson Hospital, 400 Turnpike St., Susquehanna, PA 18847.

RICHARD J. GRALEWSKI

Richard J. Gralewski, 67, Susquehanna, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA, after an illness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Margaret (Freitag) Gralewski; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Gralewski, Matt and Annu Gralewski; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann-Marie and Stephen Herrera, Mary and Donald Strohm; one brother, Anthony Gralewski; four grandchildren, Sara and Stephanie Herrera, Nina Gralewski, Julia Strohm.

Richard served in the National Guard. He was a Math teacher for 33 years at the Westfield Junior and Senior High School where he also coached high school basketball and football for many years. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson, PA.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 29 at St. Martin of Tours Church, Jackson, where a Mass of Christian Burial was offered by the Rev. John O’Bell.

Burial was in the North Jackson Cemetery, North Jackson, PA.

Arrangements were made by Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 208 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna., PA.

DONALD S. UPRIGHT

Donald S. Upright, 71, of Pennsville, NJ died Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Honesdale, PA to the late Steave and Kathryn Racht Upright, Donald was a longtime Pennsville resident.

He was employed as a machinist for the DuPont Chambers Works, Deepwater where he retired in 1993 following 26 years service. A member of the Dupont Veterans Association and of the Queen of the Apostles Church of Pennsville, he was also an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth C. Motsko Upright; a son, Daniel J. Upright, Morrisville, PA; daughters, Deb Fox, Pennsville, Donna Sickler, Alloway, NJ; brothers, Carl Upright, Starrucca, PA, David Upright, Bangor, PA, Leslie Upright, Hallstead, PA, Eric Upright, Susquehanna, PA, Kirk Upright, Moscow, PA, Kevin Upright, Thompson, PA, Maynard Upright, Montrose, PA, Mark Upright, Montoursville, PA; a sister, Norma Houck, California; grandchildren, Morgan and Taylor Sickler.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joel Upright.

Graveside services were held at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.

FRANCIS BUTTS

Francis “Cheech” Butts, 54, Watertown, NY, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Upstate Medical University.

He was predeceased by his mother and by two brothers.

He is survived by his father, Edward and Marylou Butts; one son, Shannon; three daughters, Angie, Brandi and Kelly; a stepson, Jake; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Doug Evans, Great Bend, PA, Gerri and Edward Lake, Bainbridge, NY; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Becky Butts, Orson, PA, Jeffrey and Mary Butts, Susquehanna; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and aunts.

Special thanks to Earl and Marie Butts for everything they did, they were truly devoted.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed his fishing. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He had fun in all he did. He had many friends in Chaumont, NY. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

By his request, there will be no funeral services.
