BENSON CANFIELD

Benson Canfield, 86, Susquehanna, PA, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2004.

He was born in Afton, NY on December 13, 1917, the son of the late Harry and Nina (Weldon) Canfield.

He was predeceased by one son, Denoy Canfield, in 1949.

Benson is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Roberta (Billings) Canfield, Kirkwood, NY; and their children, Princess Seymour, Oneonta, NY, Dawson Canfield and wife, Viola, Lakewood, VA. He is also survived by children from his first marriage, Durwin Canfield, Benson Canfield, Timothy Canfield, Dorothy Canfield; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He retired from the Susquehanna Community School District in 1980.

Benson enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service was held at Hennessey’s Funeral Home on March 30, with Pastor William Berkheister officiating. Burial, Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, NY.
