HELEN WELLS

Helen Wells, 83, Great Bend, PA, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 6, 2004 in Newburgh, NY while visiting family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles (Buster) Wells; her children, Gerald and Cheryl Wells, Katy, TX, Charles and Carol Wells, Vestal, NY, Patricia and Frank Bliss, Hallstead, PA, Susan Franke, Newburgh, NY, Karen and Rick Walter, Montgomery, NY; a special granddaughter, Christine Wells, Cantonsville, MD; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Mike Grischenko; a sister, Anne Kirkland, Holland Patent, NY; a special friend, Elsie Friede.

She was predeceased by her parents; two grandsons, Scott Wells and Frank P. Bliss; three sisters, Sophie Coffin, Marie Kirkland, and Phyllis Hobson, who was her twin.

Before moving to Great Bend, she was a resident of Hallstead for over 30 years. Helen loved to sew and crochet and do jigsaw puzzles. She was always there for her family. She enjoyed her cats and driving her car, which gave her much pleasure. We will miss you, Mom.

A memorial service was held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, New Milford, on Friday, February 27, with the Reverend Carol Horton officiating.

KATHRYN I. CONRAD

Kathryn I. Conrad, Susquehanna, PA, entered into her final resting place on Tuesday, February 17, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton Conrad in 1983; by a daughter, Marlene Pease in 1989; and by three brothers, Myles, Bruce and Clyde Burman.

Kathryn is survived by three grandchildren and their spouses, Lloyd and Denise Pease, Darlene and Jeff Page, Mark and Sue Pease; five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Heather Pease, Jeremy and Heidi Page, Nicholas Pease; a son-in-law, Donald and wife, Geri Pease; a brother, Reed Burman; a sister, Isabelle Butler; a sister-in-law, Marian Burman; several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Harriet Pease and Ruth Longacre.

Kathryn was a longtime Sunday school teacher and member of the Jackson Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Gibson Grange.

A funeral service was held at Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, on Sunday, February 22, with the Reverend Leland Pease officiating. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery.
