DOUGLAS F. HEESH

Douglas F. Heesh, 71, of Lanesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the Mid-Valley Hospital in Peckville, PA, after a long illness.

He was predeceased by his parents and stepfather, Floyd Heesh, Starrucca, PA, and Marion and Glen Sampson, Susquehanna.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary, and their children, Melody and Bob Glogowski, Arvada, CO, Cheryl Ripley and Rick Frank, Apalachin, NY, Robin and Frank Hobbs, Lanesboro, Rebecca and Mike Murphy, Johnson City, NY, John Heesh, Endicott, NY; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Isaac, Kristy, Sarah, Kimberly, Aaron, Bradley, Hayden, Shannon; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lee Heesh, Robert Heesh; one sister, Delores Carpenter; two sisters-in-law, Lois Bailey, Edna LaFond and their families; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was a member of the Thompson Baptist Church, Thompson, PA and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Doug was a carpenter for over 45 years and ran the Doug Heesh Remodeling Co., which remodeled many homes in the area. Doug and his crew also built the Susquehanna Fire Station. He loved bowling and hunting, but mostly his family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 11 a.m. at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 208 Jackson Avenue, Susquehanna, with Pastor Mark Wyman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clarks Summit, PA or the Susquehanna Fire Department.
