HAROLD ALAN WHITE

Harold Alan White, 78, Concord, NC, formerly of Montrose, PA, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2003 at NorthEast Medical Center.

He was born November 5, 1925 in Warren Point, NJ. He was self-employed as a pipe organ builder. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Berry White; his father, Harold Bedell White; his mother, Elizabeth Turner White; four sons, Brian Novy, Concord, NC, Glenn White, Scranton, PA, Brian White, Jackson, PA, Ken White, Savage, MD; a daughter, Bonnie Lavin, Colorado Springs, CO; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Michael Novy.

Arrangements were made by the Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, NC.

JAMES J. CARUSO

James J. Caruso, Binghamton, NY, formerly of Susquehanna, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2003, and joins his wife, B. Marie (Cox) Caruso, who predeceased him on March 5, 2001.

He is survived by his children, Pat and Monroe Grassi, Verona Beach, NY, Bonnie and Loren Puterbaugh, Binghamton, Barbara and Frank Langevin, Orlando, FL, Jim and Cherryl Caruso, Chenango Bridge, NY; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

James was born in Susquehanna, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patsy Caruso. He was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy and was known by the nickname "Chick." He was a retired employee of GAF Corporation and a retired employee of the Binghamton Savings Bank. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1839, Endicott, and was also a member of St. Paul’s Church.

Funeral services were held from the James V. DeMarco & son Funeral Home, Port Dickinson, NY followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Church. Burial, Calvary Cemetery.

LUCILLE MURPHY BERGMAN

Lucille Murphy Bergman, 94, Tempe, Arizona, formerly of Syracuse, NY died Tuesday, December 23, 2003. Lucille was predeceased by her husband, George in 1981.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Ann Bergman Brook; three grandchildren, Lisa Brook, Kristen Brook and Robert Brook. She is also survived by her brother, Leonard Murphy, Susquehanna, PA; many nieces and nephews.

Lucille graduated from the University of Mansfield, Pennsylvania and the University of Syracuse, New York. She was an elementary school teacher for 34 years, having taught both in Pennsylvania and New York. Lucille was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Trinity Community Prayer Group.

Services were held from the Lakeshore Mortuary, Mesa, Arizona, and from the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Tempe, Arizona where a Funeral Mass was offered.
