LOUIS F. SKARITZA

Louis F. Skaritza, a longtime Great Bend, PA resident passed away at the age of 92 years on Friday, January 31, 2003 in Orange Park, FL. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Jane) of Orange Park.

Surviving family includes three daughters, Suzanne (Ronald) Nelson , Sun Lakes, AZ, Mary Dubins, Aventura, FL, Joan (Ronald) Westcott, Middleburg, FL; five grandchildren, Eric, Amy and Adam Nelson, Deirdre and Corinne Westcott; one brother, Ferdinand; one sister, Irene Skaritza.

He is predeceased by his parents, Anton and Susan Skaritza; one sister, Mary Tarapata; two brothers, Joseph and Paul.

He was a 29-year employee of IBM Endicott. His hobbies included hunting and arrowhead collecting. He was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Middleburg, FL.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Holly Hill, Middleburg, where a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial, St. Lawrence Cemetery, Great Bend.

MARION SAMPSON

Marion Sampson, 90, Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF, Susquehanna.

She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Vina Glover, Starrucca, PA; two brothers, Leonard and Raymond Glover; two sisters, Alma Pedro, Dora Beach; one grandson, Marcus Heesh.

She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Sampson; four children, Doug and Mary Heesh, Lanesboro, PA, Leland and Mary Heesh, Spokane, WA, Robert and Rose Heesh, Astatula, FL, Dolores and Ken Carpenter, China Grove, NC; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Esther Meyers, Johnson City, NY, Vivian Burdick, Susquehanna, Joyce and Don Kane, Greene, NY; two brothers, Delos Glover, Susquehanna, Keith Glover, Kirkwood, NY; many nieces and nephews.

Marion loved playing bingo, even if she didn’t win. She worked at the old Day Care Center on Clinton St., Binghamton, NY for many years.

A memorial service was held at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with Pastor Terry Jenks officiating. Burial, Starrucca Cemetery, Starrucca, PA.

The family would like to thank the staff at Barnes-Kasson Hospital SNF for the wonderful care they gave Marion.

DORIS L. ALDRICH

Doris L. Aldrich, 81, Jackson, PA, went to be with her Lord Sunday, March 30, 2003. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Donovan and Merle Aldrich; a brother, Frederick H. Aldrich; a sister, Jeanne H. Aldrich.

Doris is survived by one sister, Joyce Cobb; one brother, Leonard F. Aldrich; several nieces and nephews.

Doris was the postmaster in Jackson for 27 years and worked in the D. F. Aldrich Grocery Store all her life prior to her retirement as postmaster. She was a past member of Jackson Baptist Church and the Rebecca’s. Doris was very dedicated to her own family of cats, dogs and birds who were her best friends. She never turned away an animal friend in need.

At her request, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Jackson Township at the convenience of the family.
